Nostalgia Isn't What It Was was styled, photographed, designed and printed by myself and good friend, Christopher Tuyay.

We shot the photoshoot with a Super8 camera which gave it the grainy, dreamy quality. The book layout plays with sequencing and pacing and the narrative explores the themes of nostalgia: age, time, and memories.

The Senior Sleepover project, on its most basic level, was created to spend more time with the people I care about before graduating from college. From apartments and furniture to relationships, nothing is really stable and almost everything about college living is transient.

In this project, I attempted (although not entirely successfully) to share a bed, swap midnight conversations, and invade the personal space of a different person every night for an entire month. With each sleepover, I recorded our bed-time conversations for the 30-minutes before falling asleep and offered a written transcript, photographs, and collected ephemera as working evidence of this ongoing project.
